I was looking for a possibility to learn digital drawing a few month ago. I found schoolism.com an online art school and there Character Design with Stephen Silver. After nine weeks I can only encourage everybody who wants to learn drawing, with a focus on digital art, to take this class. It is a video based training, one on one and you learn really a lot. 


To illustrate this see the picture below. In the first assignment you will design the character Jerry Loomy based on a description like "a cruel, moody ,high strung, dishonest man". At week nine you will repeat the exercise and you will be surprised about your progress...
